Nokia C5 Now Official

Last month, we saw leaked photos of the Nokia C5 — it was a slim candybar phone with a very youthful look to it. Just recently, we’ve learned those leaked photos were right all along — and the Nokia C5 isn’t only one of the sleekest candybar phones we’ve ever seen, but it’s also got some impressive hardware specifications.

The Nokia C5 packs a 2.2-inch screen, a T9 keypad, and Symbian S60 3rd edition in its 12x46x112mm shell. This pretty much means that it has the power to handle the apps that bigger, more expensive Nokia phones such as the E and N series usually flaunt.

There’s little news on the Nokia C5′s connectivity at this point, but we’re pretty sure it has GPS (it runs Ovi Maps straight out of the packaging). It also has FM radio, a microSD slot, and a 3.5mm headphone port.

The Nokia C5′s biggest draw is obviously its social networking features. Your friends’ Facebook statuses will show right next to their name in the phone book. That’s just for starters.

No news yet when this little baby will hit stores near you, but it’s likely to sell for under US$200 — a great price for its punch. Now that it’s official, we’re now keeping our eyes out for the QWERTY Nokia C6…
