Nintendo DSi LL Released In Japan

The big screen Nintendo DSi LL hit shelves in Japan over the weekend to heightened interest. The biggest selling feature and we mean this figuratively and literally has to be the dual big screen displays which measure 4.2-inches.

The below side by side comparison between the DSI LL and a Sony PSP-3000 certainly gives a better perspective of just how large the new DS units are.

Although the game unit is quite bulky, Nintendo expects the large screens to be a strong selling point that will generate sales. Outside of Japan, the DSI LL is known as the DSi XL and US and European gamers will have a chance to pick one up in Q1 2010. Even with these new releases, there is talk about the next generation DS which is expected to include integrated 3G.
