The Nintendo Wii remotes will be available in two new pastel colors, blue and pink. This brings the total color selection for the Wiimote to four as the units are already available in black and white.

The new Wiimotes are expected to be available on Valentine’s day (February 14, 2010) and will come with both the MotionPlus add-on and a protective scratch resistant jacket. Nintendo has not given any indication of pricing, but we suspect that it will be the same price as the current units, i.e. $40. What is a bit surprising is that unlike the black remote, Nintendo has no plans of releasing a matching nunchuk which does seem a little disappointing for those that want to color match their game controllers. I suppose on a brighter note though, having 4 different colored controllers will allow game players to each have their own colored Wiimote in 4 player games.
