With all of the rumors floating around about what Apple is going to do with their iPhone and iPad lineup, is it safe to say that other then Apple, we just really don’t know Cupertino has in mind. The debate over the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 have been ongoing for months and the rumors have been both for and against the new devices for this year.
The latest rumor comes by way of the Digitimes who according to their sources at Foxconn are reporting that we can expect to see the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 this September. In fact, in order to meet this timeline, Foxconn is already busy at hand putting the hardware together.
Again, the news goes against earlier reports which said that Apple would be making two new smartphones, one being a cheaper iPhone 4S and the other being the iPhone 5. Prior to this rumor, most of the information pointed to just an iPhone upgrade model in the iPhone 4S this year with the iPhone 5 to arrive no earlier then 2012. Still, the Digitimes is not the only site to say that both the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 will arrive this year because the LulzSec leaks also pointed to the same fact.
All of these rumors are great, at least it keeps us talking, but until Apple officially makes an announcement, these are really nothing more then rumors. Generally speaking, Apple has usually held one of their events in the early fall and its likely that they will again this year and it could be that we will have to wait until then before we hear something official on this subject.
