In the last few months, Palm has been making headlines for the wrong reasons including declining market share, reduced profits and low interest in Palm products. Recently, Palm made another headline that they were going to be bought out by HP and we’re now being teased with possible changes that may come.
Earlier today at a developers webinar that was held by the telecommunications giant AT&T, Palm made it clear that new devices and a WebOS was on the way. The Palm spokesperson was short on details primarily due to the ongoing consolidation with HP, but he did state:
“I’m not allowed to talk about future roadmaps, especially because we’re in the process of being acquired by HP, so I can’t say. But yes we have a road map. We are working on future devices. And [a] new version of the OS. So I think, you’re going to find the next year very exciting.
Will Palm make a comeback in the last half of 2010? It will be exciting to see what new products are coming, but they do have a steep hill to climb in a market dominated with Android handsets and iPhone 4 headlines.
