It’s become the norm lately for companies to not be able to keep secrets. With so many involved in the supply chain, in distribution and employees within the parent company itself that need to know, leaks will inevitably happen.
At times, it seems that a leak can provide almost as much information as an official press release. Take for instance, Sony’s Xperia Tablet which has been leaked yet again. This time around, we have new pictures of the Android powered tablet. The unit has been described as a 9.4-inch Tegra 3 tablet that features a display screen that supports a pixel resolution of 1280 x 800.
In addition, the screenshots detail the Xperia name on the device along with the fact that the form factor appears to have been trimmed down. Although the device has become thinner when compared to Sony’s Tablet S, we do see that there are folded edges. In the past, Sony has been pushing their multimedia features and from the most recent leak, we also know that the Xperia tablet will have an app for the Sony Walkman.
As Sony is involved in the manufacturing of a number of big ticket electronic devices such as flat screen TVs, it won’t come as a surprise if this Android tablet also functions as a universal TV remote. It’s also believed that the device will have a storage capacity of 64GB, 802.11 a/b/g/n, 3G network connectivity as well as Bluetooth 3.0, a 10 hour battery life, 1 MP front facing camera, 8MP rear camera, SD card slot and GPS support.
Expect to see official details about the Xperia tablet be released at IFA 2012.
