New Hexacore Apple Mac Pro On Tuesday?

New heaxacore Apple Mac Pro On Tuesday?

Rumors are circulating today that Apple will be adding to their Mac Pro lineup as early as this coming Tuesday, March 16, 2010. If correct the latest Mac Pro addition will be a Core i7-980x with a hexacore or six core processor.

If you’re an Apple fan that was looking to buy a new Mac and don’t mind spending top dollars for the latest technology, it might be worth waiting a few days to see if this rumor pans out or not. The Core i7-980x is Intel’s first 6 core/12 thread processor. Features include a clock speed of 3.33GHz with Turboboost that can bump up the processor speed to 3.6GHz. Additionally, it is based upon the 32nm architecture with Socket LGA1366 and 130W TDP.

Although Apple has not confirmed the new Mac and as such, this remains a rumor, there is some credibility behind it, not to mention that the Mac Pro could use a refresh.
