A voice activated toy helicopter was the latest gadget announcement by Tokyo-based Taiyo Corp.
The outdoor toy will initially retail in Japan for $60 starting in March but a global release to Asian, North American and European retail markets will follow thereafter.
The voice controlled toy will respond to basic voice commands in Japanese and English. Accepted commands include “start engine,” “up,” “hold,” “down” and “stop” and will be delivered to the helicopter using a wireless headset. More complex instructions can be sent by way of the included remote control.
The battery powered toy measures 18 centimeters in length and can fly a distance of up to 10 meters away from the operator. If you don’t have any, it looks like it may be time to buy rechargeable batteries.
