New Apple Mac Pro Upgrade Options Available

Apple Mac Pro Upgrade Options

Apple [AAPL] has quietly introduced a couple of optional upgrades for their high end Mac Pro computer line. The first option is a faster processor in the form of a 3.33GHz quad-core Intel Xeon processor. This upgrade will cost you $1,200 in addition to the listed $2,499 for a base model. If you’re looking to for a cheaper option, Apple still offers a 2.93GHz processor upgrade for $400 more.

The second optional upgrade is data storage. Apple is now offering 2TB SATA hard drives (3Gb/s, 7,200rpm, 32GB cache). These are available at a cost of $350 per hard drive and you can have as many as four installed.

Although we haven’t seen an official Apple announcement yet, the Apple Insider does indicate that the new upgrade options are available through the Apple website. Although the Mac Pro is not cheap, the processing power makes it a preferred machine by graphic designers and audio pros and these optional upgrades will certainly please some in the industry.
