Apple iPhone 3GS Jailbreak

It’s always been a cat and mouse game between Apple and the hacker community and today, it looks like Apple has gained the advantage as they have begun shipping the iPhone 3GS with a new bootrom.

The bootrom update, which is called iBoot-359.3.2 prevents the iPhone from being jailbroken by means of the 24kpwn exploit that was used by the Dev-Team and others in the hacker community.

For now, the Apple update is being seen as “impossible” to jailbreak, but like all things, given enough time, Apple will probably be back at square one developing new security patches.

For those not familiar with jailbreaking, the term refers to hacking an iPhone or an iPod so that unsupported third party software applications can be installed. Needless to say, Apple frowns upon this activity.
