Netgear has announced the availability of their Home Theater Internet Connection Kit. This powerline networking system converts electrical wall outlets into high speed virtual connections that Ethernet enabled devices can use to stream multimedia content to either the internet or the home network.
The kit supports all Ethernet devices be it HDTVs or set-top boxes. With data transfer speeds up to 200 Mbps, you can also be sure that lagging will be at a minimal when using high bandwidth applications such as VoIP, online games and HD video streaming. Netgear has also incorporated QoS (Quality of Service) into the design of their product so that more bandwidth can be allocated to high priority applications. The kit also comes with a push to secure feature that will lock the network down with the touch of a single button.
