In light of the global economic recession and the Obama administrations cutbacks, we know that certain programs are being cut or underfunded and NASA is one such organization that is facing deep budget cuts. So how does NASA go about raising money to make up their deficit?

Well, if you saw at their NASA_Astronauts Twitter account earlier today, you may just have gotten the impression that they’ve started accepting sponsored tweets as their Twitter stream was full of ads for plasma flat screen TVs, wall mount brackets and the like. Of course, this was not the case, rather, their account was hacked and taken over by Twitter spammers who were spamming their wares.

The account has since been fixed up and we should start to see the account start to tweet about their regular activites that take place both on Earth and in outer space.
