N64 Emulator Games

Older gamers will have fond memories of Nintendo’s N64 console, which brought timeless game franchises such as Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart 64, and GoldenEye to life. While the N64 passed its prime over two console generations ago, an iPhone App maker may just breathe some life into it by creating an N64 emulator for Apple gadgets.

ZodTTD has already created a Game Boy Advance emulator for jailbroken iPhones and iPod Touches, and is currently working on an emulator for the N64. He’s confident that, with the upgraded graphics hardware in Apple’s devices today, the emulator should run most N64 game ROMs.

His main problem is how to translate the large number of buttons on the N64 controller into a touchscreen interface, but he’s currently working things out, and expects to have the N64 emulator ready in the near future.

It’s quite possible that Nintendo will strike a deal with Apple and make their games available on the App Store one day. However, if you’re not willing to wait that long, all you need is a jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch when ZodTTD’s emulator becomes available.
