Myvu has recently announced the next generation of their Myvu Crystal personal media viewer. Dubbed the Myvu Crystal EV, the device features a 30% increase in equivalent screen size from its predecessor, and will support most mainstream media devices like those of Apple and Nokia.
The Myvu Crystal series has always been a sleek line of media enjoyment devices, and the EV can’t help but catch attention. It still wears like a pair of sunglasses with two earbuds, and control is surprisingly easy with its in-line controller.
Like the original Myvu Crystal, the EV will have a VGA display (640×480 pixels) and will include stereo earphones with noise-reduction. The battery is rated at four hours — enough for a feature-length movie — before charging via USB port. The standard Myvu Crystal EV will come bundled with cables that will let it sync with Zune players, DVD players, Nokia N95 phones, camcorders, and video game systems, a total package of $300.
But throw in an extra $25, and they’ll throw in a travel case and iPod/iPhone cable. The product will ship soon, although no definite dates have been announced for many areas in the world as of yet.
