MSI has launched the Wind U135 netbook with an Intel Pine Trail processor. The new netbook, considered to be a special edition was launched by the company to “commemorate” a special occasion for MSI, namely that the company has successfully sold millions of MSI netbooks.
In addition to featuring the newer Intel processor in lieu of the Intel Atom N270, the Wind U135 also includes a 10-inch screen display with a standard resolution of 1024×600, 1GB DDR2 memory, 160GB hard drive (with optional upgrade to 250GB), Intel
GMA 3150 integrated graphics as well as a 1.3MP webcam. The MSI netbook is powered by Microsoft’s Windows 7 Starter Edition.
Some of the interesting features of the netbook are a chicklet style keyboard that includes keyboard keys that are 20% larger then those found on a standard keyboard. For a netbook that comes with a small form factor, this should be a welcome addition. MSI has also added a larger touchpad as well as added a “color film printed case” that not only prevents the device from accumulating smudges and fingerprint marks, but also gives the netbook that overall glossy look and feel.
To round out the features of MSI’s new offering, the U135 also includes 3 USB 2.0 data ports, a 4 in 1 card reader, wireless 802.11 b/g/n network connectivity and an optional 6 cell battery which offers 7.5 hours of uptime.
The MSI U135 retails for under $330 from your favorite consumer electronics outlet.
