If the Firefox web browser and the Thunderbird mail client are your applications of choice, then Mozilla is recommending that users update their software to the latest versions which address new security concerns and stability issues.
With the updates, the latest version of Firefox now available is 3.6.7 and this release patches 14 vulnerabilities, of which more then half are concerned “critical updates”. The new version of Thunderbird is 3.1 and like the Firefox updates, release 3.1 includes security updates as well as fixes for some minor issues.
Mozilla does rely on the public for reporting security flaws and to encourage participation in their program, the non-profit foundation is offering a $3,000 reward for each bug that is discovered in Mozilla software.
