Motorola's Motoblur Devices Heading To Canada

Motorola Canada has announced that three of their mobile phones that feature Motoblur will be available through the three Canadian national wireless carriers (Bell, Rogers, Telus) within the first six months of this calender year. The three handsets include the Motorola Backflip, Dext and Quench.

Motoblur is Motorola’s custom user interface (UI) that sports a strong social networking aspect that synchronizes posts, feeds, pictures, etc. from social sites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace. Additionally, the updates require no further applications as the live updates are streamed directly to the home screen.

Motoblur also integrates directly with a secure Motoblur server, backing up personal data such as contact information, customized home screen settings as well as email messages and your social networking streams. In the event that your mobile device is lost or stolen and can’t be located with AGPS, your backup can be restored to your new phone by entering just your account username and password.

Currently, the Motorola handsets come with Android 1.5 though some or all of them may be upgraded to Android 2.0 prior to their official release. So far, there are no Canadian prices available, nor do we know which handsets will be available through which carriers.
