October is going to be a big month for Microsoft. Analysts have already circled October 26th on their calendar as this is the day that the Windows 8 and Windows RT versions of the Surface tablet become available. Understandably, Microsoft wants to debut these two devices along with their next version of their operating system with a big splash and in that regards, it appears that parties are in order.
News.com has discovered through their internal sources that Microsoft will be hosting a launch party that will cover the launch of both Surface and Windows 8. This launch party will take place in the big apple and it’s not the first time that Microsoft has turned to New York to announce new products as Manhattan was the location where Redmond launched Windows 7 in 2009. At the upcoming event, it’s pretty much a given that we will see major Microsoft executives as well as celebrities, but what is not known at this time is if Bill Gates will be one of the attendees. Gates, Microsoft’s Chairman, has taken a reduced work schedule, working only a couple of days out of every month.
Along with this news, Microsoft is also expected to host another party on October 29th and this event will revolve around the launch of Windows Phone 8. Unlike the New York party, the Windows Phone 8 party will take place on the west coast, most likely in either San Francisco or Los Angeles.
