We’ve all been in a situation where we are in the middle of a cell phone call only to realize that we are in a low battery situation and will need to cut the call short. Song Teaho & Hyejin Lee have developed a concept for a new battery charger that isn’t so far fetched but is simple enough to be practical in the world of consumer electronics.
Their idea mirrors that of flashlights that you shake in order to recharge. With the proposed Finger Generator, the battery charger is built within the battery itself. Find yourself short on power and all you need to do is pop the battery out, give it 130 spins on your finger and you’ve generated enough charge to complete a phone call.
The idea is with merit using green energy that is eco friendly. It’s very similar to the revolving door which also uses people power to create energy. As with many of these concept gadgets, the only question now is if someone is willing to take the idea from the design stage to production.
