Microsoft was smart enough to know how important it was to release a mobile version of Bing when they launched the regular website last summer. Unfortunately, mobile web users weren’t particularly impressed with the mobile Bing, especially compared to its Google counterpart. Learning its lesson, Microsoft recently unveiled a new version of Bing Mobile — now it’s a lot better suited to touchscreen devices.
The new mobile Bing looks surprisingly good on the Apple iPhone. The new interface is pretty easy to use and navigate (especially for something coming from Microsoft) — you can employ tabs to keep your searches in line, and easily clear your results to start anew. And following Bing’s thrust to make search a lot more visual, Bing Mobile also has a visual manner of looking through movies.
The new Bing Mobile also has a few nifty tools for those who don’t use touch devices. It’s still easy to check the status of flights in your area with Bing, but probably a more interesting feature is the search results for NFL. The results you get are pretty in-depth, and should earn Bing quite a bit of traffic on game day Sundays.
