Intel and Microvision has teamed up to show off their new first person shooter prototype. It’s a cool idea that takes a PicoP projector and attaches it to a gun controller. The gaming controller projects an image on a nearby wall and using “infinite focus”, it not only recognizes player movement but also ensures that the image is always clear and in focus. The neat part about this is players can now experience “an immersive, 360-degree feel.”
If you happen to live in Edmonton Alberta, Canada, the prototype is on display at the Extreme Masters PC gaming tournament, an event sponsored by Intel. While there, users will have an opportunity to try out Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising or if you want a more G rated experience, there will also be an opportunity to test out the game controller with Aladdin flying on his magic carpet.
