I know there are a lot of Microsoft bashers out there, but you have to feel for them for the mud that they have on their face over the I’m A PC Ad. Microsoft has spend countless sums of money to try and improve their brand and reputation.
This started with their first ad campaign featuring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. With this ad, a large portion of the viewing audience was left scratching their head as to what exactly this ad was about because it wasn’t overly clear.
With the next phase of ads, Microsoft went to counter the I’m a Mac ad with their own rendition called I’m a PC. For all it’s worth, this ad was pretty good. It was simple, easy for the masses to understand and included the average Joe using a PC. Not bad.
The problem is that on the Microsoft site, they have included 7 still images from this ad. If you take a moment to look at the properties of these pictures, you’ll note that 7 lines down, under creation software, it shows Adobe Photoshop CS3 Macintosh. Ouch, that’s got to hurt.
