The invitations for Microsoft’s launch party that will take place on October 25th have all gone out. The event will take place in New York with the official availability of the Windows 8 operating system scheduled to take place on the following day, October 26th.
It feels like there is so much information available on Windows 8 already that one has to wonder what, if any surprises will Microsoft have at the launch part itself? The reviews on Windows 8 have been mixed. Yes, it is the latest and greatest and the eventual successor for Windows 7, but this time around, Microsoft wants to tackle both personal computers and tablets with one single stroke. The upcoming launch party will also include the Microsoft Surface Reception which is the company’s very own tablet so there is a good chance to hear a little more about this device as well. But, in terms of actual surprises for Windows 8, there really doesn’t seem to be many left. If we go through our tick list, we already know the launch date, we know how much will Windows 8 cost and we’ve already heard about Windows RT tablets and Windows 8 laptops. Perhaps however, we’ll also hear a bit more about Xbox Music at this event?
