Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000

Windows 7 will finally save Vista users beginning in October this year. In preparation, Microsoft has launched the Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 desktop set, a combination of a wireless, ergonomic keyboard and mouse. It’s touted to work seamlessly with the new operating system and its various new features.

The tradition of putting senseless numbers after product names aside, this may be one of Microsoft’s most attractive products so far. The keyboard has several one-touch buttons designed to take advantage of Windows 7’s “Taskbar Favorites,” “Device Stage,” and “Windows Flip” features. It also has a comfort curve, a soft palm rest, and quiet keys for a great working experience.

The mouse isn’t too bad either – it has a 2.4 GHz mini-transceiver that can work up to 30 feet away, rubber grips on the side, a shape that can work for right- and left-handed users, and Microsoft’s patented BlueTrack technology, which can let users work on most any surface.

Microsoft’s Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 set will hit the shelves two months before Windows 7, and at $79.95, it may be worth the investment – that is, if you’re still using a desktop PC.
