Microsoft Opens 3 New Stores, Now Has 45

Apple has achieved considerable success through their Apple stores and we’ve seen Samsung get in on the action with stores of their own. The purpose of these stores is to of course promote the wares of the respective corporations and not to be out down, Microsoft has expanded their retail outlets with the addition of four new locations.

The cities that are now sporting new Microsoft stores include New York which gained a pair of stores on Friday, as well as Delaware and New Hampshire, each of which saw a single retail outlet open in their city. The focus of these Microsoft stores are to continue to promote Microsoft products, including hardware that is running on the Microsoft operating system as well Microsoft developed hardware and software that runs on the various Microsoft OS.

In total, Microsoft has 45 stores and further expansion is on the way. As part of their grand opening, Microsoft did give out a number of door prizes which included an Xbox 360 game console, a Samsung Series 9 notebook as well as other smaller goodies. For next year, Microsoft has already announced their plans to expand into Canada as well as Puerto Rico. In addition to this, the company wants to open up several temporary pop up stores whose objective will be to promote Windows 8 during the holiday rush later this year.
