Microsoft has been busy working on their upcoming Office 15 product and it appears that the new version of Office will be announced in two days time by way of a press conference. It’s believed that the new version of Office will be available after the launch of Windows 8, but Redmond will take the opportunity on Monday to highlight the new features of their software product.
When you look at Office software packages that are available, it’s easy to see just how much competition that Microsoft faces. One of it’s biggest competitors is none other then Google with their Docs which is continually receiving updates with an ultimate goal of being a product that is on the same level as Office. With that in mind, Microsoft needs to continue to reinvent Office to remain one step ahead. We should be hearing about all of the features in next weeks official press announcement, but it’s believed that Office 15 will come with web extensions so that document interactions can take place through websites. There is also some belief that the ability to modify Adobe PDF documents will be a standard feature.
The new Office suite of products will also come with an updated user interface, one that will be in line with what Microsoft is looking to introduce with Windows 8 Metro. Since Microsoft’s new operating system will support both touch and gesture controls, some of these features may also make their way into the Office 15.
