Metroid: Other M Live Action Ad

When Halo: Reach “Birth of a Spartan” was to launch, it was proceeded by a live action ad. Nintendo appears to have liked what they saw with Microsoft’s web and Xbox Live promotion and have followed suit with their upcoming Metroid: Other M.

A trailer for Metroid: Other M has been released by Nintendo and it includes live action sequences. Initially, the game was expected to launch on June 27th, but was subsequently delayed to allow game developers more time to refine parts of the game. The new launch date is now August 31st and Nintendo has not let the delay go to waste as they have used the extra type to hype the launch.

In terms of the storyline, Metroid: Other M takes place in the time between Super Metroid (an SNES game) and Metroid Fusion (a Gameboy Advanced game). With this new game, we’ll see quite a of Samus’ past as she along with a team of soldiers helps a heavily damaged ship that has put out a mayday call. As part of this game, Samus and her team will need to split up to assist the injured amongst the ship as well as determine what was the reason for the distress signal.

Metroid: Other M will be available only for the Nintendo Wii on August 31st. Enjoy the new trailer.

    Nintendo’s been doing live-action Metroid commercials since Super Metroid. They hardly ‘followed suit’ from Microsoft.
