Meizu mBook, An iPad Clone With 12 Hour Battery

Meizu mBook, An iPad Clone With 12 Hour Battery

The Apple iPad may be the undisputed heavy weight in the tablet market, but there’s no question that others are looking to clone their success, even if it is on a much smaller scale. Such is the case with Meizu, whose Chief Executive Officer Jack Wong announced their own iPad clone in the mBook.

The mBook will feature an 1024×768 pixel resolution, 8.4-inch capactive touch display with 1080p support that will be powered by a 1.5GHz processor (most likely a Snapdragon processor). Similar to the 3G version of the iPad, the mBook will come with 3G, GPS support and “high quality music playback.” Of course, being an Apple clone means that it won’t be able to run an Apple iPhone OS but instead, Wong has indicated that the open source Google Android OS is the OS of choice, though the user interface will be highly customized.

The Meizu tablet will also include HDMI output and we should see the first mBook some time next year.
