Announcing on Thursday the KC780 portrait phone, LG holds claim to the thinnest 8-megapixel camera phone. The KC780 is just 13.9 millimeters thick. Even with such a thin body, LG has managed to add a number of features that are sure to please photo enthusiasts.
The KC780 comes standard with a 2.4-inch widescreen LCD display and uses Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens, thereby ensuring that this camera can take clear and high quality images. Image clarity is further enhanced with the use of face detection technology which automatically finds and focuses on people’s faces.
Another interesting feature incorporated in this model is Smile Shot. When this feature is enabled, the camera will only trigger the shutter when the person is smiling. With the Beauty Mode feature, spots and imperfections will be removed from the object of the picture.
The LG-KC780 also offers a DVD recording mode. Since the captured video is in DVD format, you can be assured that the video when viewed on a large screen TV will look just as good as the original.
November 2008 is when the KC780 will be available in Europe. Shortly thereafter, it will debut in CIS and Asia but there is no plans for North America at this time.
