Mattel Gives Dogs A Way To Tweet

I’m sure most of us find dogs irresistible — they follow us wherever they go. Now, toy company Mattel is creating a bit of irony with one of their latest products, “Puppy Tweets,” a device that attaches to your dog’s collar and Tweets their every move. So, basically, now you can follow your dog, too.

Basically, Puppy Tweets keeps track of your dog’s movements, and when it recognizes certain behaviors, it’ll post a tweet to your dog’s Twitter account. (Of course, you’ll have to set up the account yourself.) If your dog is barking a lot, you’ll probably get a tweet like, “Some days you just gotta get your bark on!” You get the idea.

Mattel’s marketing director Susan Russo says Puppy Tweets will merge two popular trends — social media and people’s love for their dogs. I’m sure dog lovers will like the idea of knowing exactly where their pets are and what they’re doing.

For the rest of us, though, I’m sure we’ll be okay with our dogs following us wherever we go, not the other way around and with the rambling sneakers, now everyone can follow your every footstep.
