Livescribe Pluse smartpen

Livescribe has expanded it’s lineup of Pulse Smartpens. In addition to the already available 1GB model, consumers will now have a choice of either a 2B or 4GB model. The new devices come in titanium, include an ARM9 processor and use synchronization to save both audio and handwritten notes.

The 4GB model has enough storage capacity to save up to 400 hours of audio recording and can also save application files that will soon become available through Livescribe’s online store.

The one main downside to the Livescribe pens is that they require custom paper for transcription of notes. If the pen was flexible enough to be used on any paper, that would be the ideal scenario.

Expect to see the 2GB model retail for $170 while the 4GB model will be $30 more at $200. Both models will be available through Best Buy.
