Laser technology has come a long way since their discovery and we now see lasers being deployed in all facets of life from military weapons all the way to kids toys. Another interesting use of laser technology is by Light Touch, which is a laser emitting projector that is capable of displaying a 10-inch interactive touchscreen display on any flat surface, an idea similar to the laser based virtual keyboards we’ve been seeing lately. The projected images are WVGA as well as auto-focusing, thus ensuring a crisp, clear image.

Developed by Light Blue Optics, Light Touch not only offers an interactive display, but these displays are also in full color. Powered by holographic laser projection technology (HLP), Light Touch makes use of an infra-red sensing system to detect interactivity. With WiFi and Bluetooth technology built-in, this unit does come with limitless opportunities for use.

Currently, Light Touch includes 2GB of storage memory (upgradeable to 32GB) and its battery life has been rated for 2 hours.
