LG BL40 Chocolate Phone

LG’s Black Label series of smartphones have always been among the most stylish on the market, but the latest addition takes a gamble at functionality. The LG BL40 waltzes onto the scene with a massive 4-inch, 800×345 screen resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio touchscreen display, making it one of the larger smartphones in the market today. According to LG, the large screen will be “for a panoramic, cinema-like quality and optimal mobile computing experience.”

Granted, there are other big-screened smartphones already on the market like the Nokia E90 and the Toshiba TG01. What sets the BL40 apart is the fact that it still manages to capture the sleek, sexy curves of the Black Label series – something other big-screened smartphones woefully can’t match up to.

But even with the great looks, the BL40’s biggest draw is naturally its large screen. Users have been clamoring for a smartphone with a wide-enough screen to let them browse websites without having to scroll left and right. What’s more, it’s really saying something when your phone’s screen has more icons than everyone else’s.

Another great thing about a big screen is that it lets you run two applications at the same time, side-by-side – something even the iPhone struggles to do. Throw a 5-megapixel digital camera into the mix and you’ll know you’ll find ways to make this baby fit your pocket.
