LG Electronics has paired up with NellyRodi, a design agency located in Paris France. Together, the two have announced a new 2.5-inch external hard drive called XD6 Jewelry that will launch within the Korean market.
With an emphasis on design and beauty, the small form factor hard drive has been developed for the female audience that are looking for not just a portable hard drive, but also a piece of computer equipment that has a bit of high end fashion tied in. The new LG drives will be available in either Violet or Titan color with the front face of the aluminum case covered in Swarovski crystals. The HDD will also come bundled with a protective leather cover.
The XD6 Jewelry is also USB 2.0 compatible and will be available in drive sizes of 320GB, 500GB and 640GB and the maximum sustained transfer speed supported is 480 Mbps. Though a launch date has not been confirmed, when it does hit the Korean market, retail prices will range between 110,000(KRW) and 190,000(KRW) depending upon the drive size selected.
