LG announced it’s latest gadget, the eco-friendly solar powered cell phone. The announcement was made at the Mobile World Congress 2009, where LG renewed it’s commitment to it’s go green initiative known as Life’s Good When It’s Green.
The new phone has solar panels embedded into the battery cover so that it can easily harness the unlimited and pollution free energy of the sun.
The phone is handy for emergency situations as a 10 minute sun exposure will provide sufficient charge for a quick 3 minute call.
No pricing or release date has been announced for this cell phone, but this is a great step. Let’s hope we see future gadgets include more solar power options into their design.

That would be really helpful for me cause I’m always forgetting my phone charger and it would be awesome to just put the phone on a windowsill while gaming at a friends house to charge the phone up.
