LG is getting into the already heated E-Book market by releasing their own rendition of a book reader. How they differentiate themselves from the rest of the market is by adding a solar cell into their book reader.
The solar cell measures just 0.7mm thick and weighs 20g and will fit within the 6-inch TFT LCD display screen. It’s expected that a 5 hour charge time will provide enough juice for a full days worth of heavy reading and LG is not stopping here. They’ve already announced that the unit has an energy conversion rate of 9.6% and plans are in the works to bump this up to 12% by next year and 14% by 2012.
