Lenovo ThinkPad USB Secure Portable HDD

Lenvo has introduced the ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive, an external hard drive that features a numeric pad on the top surface of the drive. The drive is meant to keep data secure using 128 bit encryption. It’s when the operator keys in the correct pin by means of the keypad will the data be unlocked.

The ThinkPad USB portable secure hard drive will be available as a 160 GB ($179) or 320 GB ($218) model.

This new secure drive offers a couple of nice features including:

• No external power required as it draws power through the USB port
• Small size – 1 inch thick
• Simplicity of use
