Sitting somewhere between a netbook and a smartphone, the Lenovo Skylight is a smarbook that comes with a 10.1-inch display screen with 720p resolution and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (1GHz ARM II). The Lenovo device features 8GB of flash storage, 512MB RAM, WiFi/3G network connectivity, 10-hour battery life and a 1.3MP digital camera. The Skylight Smartbook will come with the Lenovo Linux operating system preinstalled.
Retail price for the Snapdragon smarbook will be $499 which is much higher then the usual $200 ceiling set for this category of devices. The units will be available through Lenovo as well as AT&T this April and there is a chance that AT&T may offer aggressive pricing and/or subsidies with 2 year service contracts.
