The Reuters news organization has confirmed with Lenovo that an Android tablet is in the works. The Lenovo tablet is currently going by the codename of LePad and there are no firm timelines as to when we can see this tablet launch.
The tablet will of course compete against other popular tablets such as the iPad and the upcoming Asus EeePad which was also confirmed as shifting to the Andoid OS.
This will not be Lenovo’s first venture into the Android world as the fourth best selling computer brand already has a regionally available Android phone called LePhone that is available in China. Although LePad is just the codename of the Lenovo tablet for now, there is a good chance that it may also be the final name as the tech company might try and and leverage some of the brand building that has been completed with the LePhone.
