Leak Motorola Droid X2 Has High Res Display, 1 GHz Tegra 2 CPU

When the Motorola Droid X first came on the scene, it was the must have device for many as its features which included a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and 4.3-inch display screen were inspirational.

That however, was last years model and when you compare its features to the newer smartphones that are coming today with dual-core mobile processors, the Droid X seems like its due for a refresh with some better hardware specs. HotHardware is reporting that a “highly reliable source” has leaked information revealing details about the Droid X2 that is on the way.

The X2 will have the same form factor as the original model, but its under the hood where the biggest change can be seen and that is the inclusion of a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor. The X2 will also have a 4.3-inch display screen with 540×960 pixel resolution. What may be of a concern to some is the fact that reports indicate that the DX2 will have the same battery as the original model which may be troublesome when you factor in the powerful GPU and extra processing power. Hopefully though the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor won’t be the big battery drain or the DX2 is going to need regular recharging. Though not confirmed, its believed that the DX2 will run on the Android 2.2 operating system.
