LaCie is a company that is well known for their rugged products, but their latest device takes a slightly different approach to protection. Rather then releasing a new product in the form of a rugged hard drive or a rugged computer, their new product is a rugged case.
Simply called The Tank, this case will protect anything that you can store within it. Its size allows for protection of such items as a 2.5-inch personal hard drive or a small portable handheld console. In addition to physical protection, the Tank also offers protection from the elements as it is also rain-proof and dust proof. It has been qualified as an IP-63 certified product. Also, what good is a protective case if it doesn’t protect against shock damage or drop damage and this device has both shock and drop protection.
The tank sells for £19.99 in the UK and it is expected to go on sale elsewhere.
