Kodak added to it’s ultracompact camcorder lineup today with the addition of the Zi8. This new digital camcorder builds on the earlier models such as the Zi6 and the Zi1 by including a larger 2.5-inch color LCD display, face tracking and full HD (1080p) recording which is improved by the integration of electronic image stabilization technology that reduces the degree of blurring.

Other features of the camcorder include software that can be loaded through the USB arm that provides basic video editing functions as well as the ability to upload video to YouTube and Facebook. The Zi8 records video on SD/SDHC cards and can support a card size up to 32GB which are capable of storing 10 hours of video.
In addition to it’s video features, the Zi8 can take 5-megapixel stills in widescreen format (16:9 aspect ratio).
Expect to see this budget camcorder retail this September for about $245.
