Everyone’s been a victim of the batteries on their devices dying a little too early and getting stuck without a charger. Until international standards come up with designs for a universal charger, Kodak’s new solar charger will have to do.
The Kodak Solar Charger KS100-C +2 is a new device that collects energy from light sources, from the sun to your desk lamp, to charge two rechargable AA batteries. The device can also be connected to a pc with a free USB port for some extra juice.
This new solar charger works with digital cameras, mobile phones, iPods, portable media players – the list goes on. The great thing about this device is that it can be used with more than just one of your devices, and it’s portable enough to bring around wherever you go.
A fully charged Kodak Solar Charger KS100-C +2 is touted to offer 33 more hours of music playing for an iPod, or 200 more captures for an average digital camera. We may not know just how much punch the solar charger packs until it gets released September this year (at $40), but the thought of having some extra handy power is enough to give this little baby a whirl when it rolls around.
