Kingston Technology has come out with a high capacity USB flash memory drive that provides 256GB of storage memory. Known as the DataTraveler 300, this is the largest flash drive on the market today with read/write speeds of 20 MB/s and 10 MB/s respectively.
Backed by a Kingston 5 year warranty, the new drive features a capless design, data encryption/password protection and has enough storage capacity to hold over 50,000 digital images or 54 DVDs.
The units are made to order, but before you place your rush order for a couple of sticks, you should know that a single flash drive sells for nearly $950. Of course if you can wait a while, you may just find this sitting in a bargain bin at your local tech store because like all emerging technology, prices do come down with time.
