Unfairly or not, China has the reputation of producing dubious technology. But the KINGK N99 mobile phone is so unusually interesting that it’s worth mentioning here — the flashy steel-cased mobile phone has a round display. (Oh, and it has random logos, too.)
First off, the round display. It does look spiffy and will catch a few glances every time you whip it out. But you’ll eventually want to question its practicality — for instance, how would watching 4:3 or 16:9 aspect videos look like?
Secondly, the KINGK N99 also sports random logos, although why its developers would do this is beyond me. Some of the photos I’ve seen of the device have a Transformers logo. Another one was labeled “Nokia.” Yup, this one’s from China, all right.

In any case, if you’re not as brand-conscious as this writer (and if you can read the Chinese UI), then you might want to give this sexy little oddity a whirl. It’s a GSM 900/1800 MHz phone, so you can use it in most parts of the world. It costs US$158.99 — and, in true fashion, it costs less then some wholesale phones.
