Joby Gorillapod Gets Magnetic Feet

Joby Gorillapod Gets Magnetic Feet

It’s funny how camera technology has evolved in the past few years — if you were born before the 90′s like I was, you probably remember how it was trying NOT to run out of film before the trip was over. Today, I’d say the digital revolution has all but erased film cameras from society — but it hasn’t done much to change the camera’s form factor. Joby is out to help that side of things catch up with the times.

You may have heard of Joby’s Gorillapods before. Making their debut back in 2006, they made for great camera accessories — they were basically tripods with bendable notched legs, letting you set up your camera basically anywhere you wanted it, without the rigid limitations of conventional tripods.

Now, Joby has something new for the great indoors — the Gorillapod Magnetic. It basically sports the same design as the Gorillapod, except that it has magnets on its feet. That way you can mount your camera on the ref or on the sides of your cubicle. All of a sudden armchair photographers like us have a few more options to fill our Facebook albums with.
