We may all know that electric cars will play a big role in the future (which may be now) as countries move away from oil based economies and more towards alternate energy sources.

In order for electric vehicles (EV) to gain widespread acceptance, dealerships will need to address the process of recharging them as the current process in some cases can be quite slow and impractical when consumers want to go on a spur of the moment road trip. JFE Engineering Corp is one company that is trying to address this concern with their development of the JFE Quick Charging Station.

These recharging stations will significantly reduce the time required to recharge batteries on these EV with estimates indicating that a 3 minute charge time will recharge a car battery to about 50% of capacity. There is still a bit of work to be done with this new technology as the cost of a single charging station is $63,000 and the units will not work until certain software modifications are performed on your EV but it is a start.
