RoboSteel, an Ireland-based company that produces sculptures and other creations using scrap metal, has just brought to the fore one of their latest masterpieces — a polished, 8-foot tall, 1,200-pound replica of the Alien Queen, the terrifying monster from the 1986 sequel to the original “Alien” movie.
The Alien Queen is actually one of two creations from the RoboSteel mill — the other one, the “Alien King,” has already been sold and is now somewhere in Trinidad. The Alien Queen is still around, though, and is for sale for US$6,000 — a tantalizingly low sum of money for a wealthy Alien aficionado!
The Alien Queen sculpture isn’t life-size, though — in the movie, it was the only fertile member of its species and stood 15 feet tall. The sculpture is about half that — only 8 feet tall — but there’s no doubt that the detail put by the RoboSteel team into the work makes for a frighteningly realistic piece.
It took three people three months of full-time work to put this shiny little monster together. It’s going to be featured in the “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not” show pretty soon, and if you want to have it for yourself, be quick about it — I’m pretty sure there are already quite a few offers on RoboSteel’s table by now.
