A beta version of iPhone OS 4.0 that has been made available to developers has generated some stir because of what was found in the underlying code of this multi tasking operating system.
Reported through the The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW), iStat, a monitoring tool that was run on an iPhone with OS 4.0 revealed the background processes which were actively running. Most were mundane, but the one that was interesting was iChat which is being implied will be responsible for video chat conversations that will take place on future iPhone models.
Video conferencing is a regularly requested feature on the Apple devices and with Android phones growing in popularity, one can expect that Apple will do everything possible to make their iPhone as attractive as possible.
