There has always been some speculation that Verizon would carry the Apple iPhone but to date, these rumors have not materialized. Recently, these rumors have begun to grow stronger as it appears that Apple has ordered large quantities of CDMA chips and it’s also been confirmed that Ivan Seidenberg, the Chief Executive Officer for Verizon will give the keynote address at the 2011 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Could it be that a Verizon iPhone will be available in January 2011? The indications are strong as reporters “familiar with supply chain logistics” have indicated that Apple has ordered millions of Qualcomm CDMA chipsets which will be utilized during a December production run that will allow the smartphone to go on sale through Verizon in 2011.
What are your thoughts, would you buy an iPhone through Verizon if it became available next year?
